As of Monday 14th June, the DVSA increased the number of tests in Great Britain each day to seven, which was the typical number carried out prior to the pandemic. With this change comes an increase in capacity across the national network by about 15,000 to 20’000 tests every month. DVSA has justified this return because of how experienced examiners have become at carrying out the additional Covid-19 safety measures. They are confident that 7 tests can be carried out daily with hardly any risk that work-days will over-run. This will be a relief to some learners in Newbury, as it will relieve some pressure because it may mean shorter waiting periods between a failed test and a rescheduled driving test.
With this change comes the re-introduction of the 3 working day short notice for test cancellations, which means that when pupils cancel their practical tests within the 3 day period before a test or are absent on the day they will forgo their test fee. It is important that driving schools are aware of these changes, so that they can inform their pupils before they risk a nasty surprise for not attending tests. Driver Trainer magazine has stated ‘If you or your pupil need to cancel a test within the three working day period as a result of a positive COVID-19 result or having to self-isolate you need to email customerservice@dvsa.org.uk with COVID SHORT NOTICE CANCELLATION in the subject of the email and DVSA will look to reschedule the test for the earliest possible appointment.’

Louise,
helped me to control my anxiety and focus on passing my driving test,
would definitely recommend
Thanks
Hi Harvey.
Thank you so much for your review. Dealing with anxiety is something that we believe is very important. The practicalities of controlling a vehicle is one thing but if you feel anxious that’s when it’s easy to make mistakes both while learning and after you pass. Well done a great first time pass 🙂
