There are seven possible ‘Show Me’ questions that will be asked by the test examiner in the ‘Show Me, Tell Me’ portion of your practical driving test. You will only be asked one of these ‘Show Me’ questions, but they can be asked at any time during the test, including when you’re on the road in Thatcham or Newbury during the independent driving part. Some of them may seem self-evident or even irrelevant to learning how to actually drive, but it is imperative you learn them and are able to demonstrate your knowledge, or you risk getting a minor mark and having to rebook if you eventually fail.

When it is safe to do so, can you show me how you wash and clean the rear windscreen?
When it is safe to do so, can you show me how you wash and clean the front windscreen?
When it is safe to do so, can you show me how you would switch on your dipped headlights?
When it is safe to do so, can you show me how you would set the rear demister?
When it is safe to do so, can you show me how you would operate the horn?
When it is safe to do so, can you show me how you would demist the front windscreen?
When it is safe to do so, can you show me how you would demist open and close the side window?

I would recommend asking your driving instructor to go through these questions with you. Unfortunately, it is not something you can learn from a video, as the answers to these questions will differ greatly between car models and manufacturers. Most of the answers are located around the steering wheel stalks.
